i wanted to share a recipe that i made last week! it was so good and healthy and jeff ate it...he's really good like that, even if he claims he's starving an hour later
Grilled Sirloin Salad by Jillian Michaels
here's what you will need:
1 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 lb boneless sirloin steak (i used a flank steak)
8 cups mixed salad greens
1 1/2 cups bell pepper cut into strips
1 cup thinly sliced red onion
1 tbsp fresh parsley (didn't have any)
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 can whole kernal corn drained and rinsed (didn't use it...it sounded gross to me)
ready, ok
combine the first 6 ingredients; rub over both sides of steak. heat a nonstick grill pan over medium high heat.
i had to cut mine into so it would fit in the pan
add steak; cook on each side about 5 minutes or until desired doneness (this was much longer for me)
once your steak is done, be sure to let it rest. this will keep it nice and moist...trust me
cut the steak across the grain into thin slices
combine salad greens and remaining ingredients in a large bowl and toss well to coat. top with steak. eat.
it's really that simple!
