the last day of seven

tomorrow is the BIG DAY! 

 

hard to believe this guy will be E-I-G-H-T

 

lunch was Schlotzy's...it's his favorite place to eat because they have the best grill cheese and chips! 

 

thank you Lord, it was not Burger King 

 

then he weaseled a "present" out of us, possibly because he's so darn handsome?  

long story...but it was one that he had already "seen"...because he had been snooping!

and these will be on their way to school tomorrow...they were so easy and turned out pretty cute!

inviting the family

birthday invitations seem to stress me out for no apparent or good reason

as jackson gets older the "theme" type parties are heading out the door (which is a good thing, don't get me wrong), unless you can have a star wars party from here on out and surely somewhere along the way that would get old....

surely?

but this year he is ALL ABOUT LEGO's

legos, legos, legos

so of course, i scan the world wide web for inspiration of never before seen Lego Invitations...because that's how my brain works and even though, i know he's just seven, almost eight

but if anyone enjoys all of the work i put into a birthday party HE DOES! 

God love that child...

so it dawned on me at target while picking out plates and napkins

 

lego's are mostly bright, solid colors, right?

duh?

these were the easiest invitations to date

a pack of cardstock and a photo shoot of some lego people set out to destroy each other, ran those babies through the printer, cut them down a bit, folded them over, stapled them shut, addresses and stamps 

done. 

he thought they were wonderful

 

The Skinny...another good 1 hour walk/run today, picked up the pace several times and left them behind!  why is running on pavement so different than the treadmill?

it's the times when you're NOT looking for something...

you find it!

 

craigslist was becoming a pain...even though i still love it and you can find a TON of deals there...traveling around atlanta at a moments notice to often find a piece of junk was a little on the not-so-fun side

two saturdays ago we rode by this "antiques and interiors" store, somewhere in alpharetta and i yell "stop the car!"

and he does...because he's good like that

and there it was, smack dab in the middle of the store waiting for me!  10% off if i pay by cash or check 

no problem 

i'll take it!

now this little thing is absolutely perfect just the way it is...IF I HAD ROBIN'S EGG BLUE SOMEWHERE IN MY HOUSE

i don't

it's headed to jackson's room by way of black paint, a little stain and new drawer pulls!

i just have to decide on the pulls...any ideas?

and if you're in alpharetta or like me, travel there for no specific reason, look up "The Queen of Hearts" you don't want to miss it!
