a few days ago, i posted my One Little Word for 2012, INTENTIONAL...and all that jazz

not to make light of the whole process but i seem to get all caught up in things such as this, those things that are meant to last for an entire 352 days!  visualizing it like that and i'm toast!  but this year i'm not gonna sweat it, i'm going to do my best to improve gradually and in small doses...i. will. not. get. overwhelmed.

part of 2012 is to be INTENTIONAL with my photography and what a better way to do this than with a photo-a-day challenge! 

 

here is the challenge that i will be using...found at The House of Smith's blog (a great blog, by the way) it is already compiled and ready to go, so it's perfect!  and yes, i'm a few days behind but not to worry...i'll catch up starting today!

this is do-able and the plan is to post the photos every few days, if not daily...

baby steps, people...

but for now, i'm off to endure Jillian Michaels' Ripped in 30 which is an awesome DVD and works wonders if it doesn't kill me in the process!

watching him grow...

it's getting harder and harder to get some good photos of this kid but regardless i knew i had to get something because 'the shirt' photos were over due

each year around his birthday, i take jackson's photos in the same shirt which is an old denim ralph lauren button down that unfortunately, jeff can no longer wear...man, i loved that shirt 

for the life of me it seems that i can't get him to look my way!

and then there's that split second...

a peek from saturday

my sweet and very talented friend, Morgan took some family shots of us on saturday! 

this was long overdue, like 7 years...

this was jackson doing the "Dougie"

however, it looked like just in time for jackson to be in rare form...he's pretty comfortable around ms. morgan.  she teaches 4k at the school and because she's so dang creative, she teaches the elementary kiddos Art as well! 

she chose the coolest spot to shoot, i'll share it later

now i'm not sure when we will get to see the rest...but i almost can't stand it!

i got to play with this awesomeness last week and boy did it give me the fever!  not only the lens but the 5D...holy smokes!  i was in heaven...the high ISO had me at hello 

hopefully, one day...this baby will be mine.  the camera, that is!  but ONLY when and if morgan decides she needs another upgrade

for now, she will get to use this one and her other new baby on me, jeff and jackson coming up soon!  

I CAN'T WAIT

jeff keeps blaming me for the computer running-so-slow ??

 

on oldie but a goodie

it can't be me but possibly ALL THE PHOTOS OF THIS SWEET CHILD!

so here's the thing...i need to get these treasures off my computer but it scares me to death!  i back up to an external hard drive and at one time i was in the process of backing up to cd's/dvd's, 2 each which i need to finish

afterward that is said and done, i want to back up to an online site but WHICH ONE?  i know about Flickr, heard of Carbonite and read about Mozy...any ideas?  

and i've also read that if you don't get these photos off your c drive then you're not making any progress, so i need a site that will back up my c drive?  does that sound right? 

this stuff, i know nothing about.

my good friend and my bestest running partner ev-ah asked if i would take some photos of her and her family for christmas....

um, yes please!  

hadn't done that in quite. some. time. 

it was a mix of cold freezing, wind, white shirts and bright sun all over the place

i've wanted some real zoom ever since i sold my Canon 28-135 last year, and especially now that jackson is playing tennis and honestly, i couldn't pass up this barely ever used piece of glass

it will get some good use this weekend, we're headed to the cabin!
